Keltar-fresh is an item in the list of provisions kept by EQBio-OS, the member software of Molecular Reality Corporation, and is named after the company's mascot, the felt puppet Keltar. Its listing, in full, reads: "It costs us a few cents to make, smells like mint chocolate, and will let you display your allegiance to the mission in a delicious smelling way. ETA: March 2026".[1] In October 2026 the estimate had not been changed.

Description

The listing gives the item's cost, its scent and its purpose. It names no form, size or material, and the item has no picture. Keltar-fresh is the second of the seven provisions in the company's table, and its name is displayed in pure green, 0, 255, 0 in RGB, the brightest green a screen can show; the puppet it is named after is green felt. Unlike his two seals of quality, Keltar Approved™ and Keltar Rating™, the name carries no trademark sign.[1]

The software sorts provisions into three kinds. Inventory items are things a member already holds. Items for sale carry a button marked PROCURE that opens a checkout page. Status items, Keltar-fresh among them, report progress on something not yet delivered, and they carry a button marked "Check status", which opens a window headed "PROVISION DETAILS".[1]

The company stores the listing's one sentence twice, as the item's description and as its status. When provisions are shown in an inbox message, the software prints the description and then the status, so the sentence appears twice, the second time after the word "Status:", and both copies end "ETA: March 2026".[1]

Availability

No date of manufacture or shipment is on record, and the item is not marked for sale. The estimate is the only one in the list of provisions that names a month. Another provision, an eONE amplifier, gives its arrival as "Next several weeks", and one called "Elements=amplifier" says "We hope to get you this soon."[1] Keltar's Field Guide, published in August 2026, describes him down to the paper sign on his mug and does not mention the item.[2] Provisions are the business of the company's hardware persona, The Quartermaster, whose office handles "hardware, reagents, accessories, pore cartridges, and chips with pores"; neither of his two messages mentions it.[3]

Scent

Mint owes its character to menthol, the main constituent of peppermint oil, which is felt as much as smelled. Menthol produces the cool sensation of mint by opening TRPM8, a receptor in sensory nerve endings that also responds to temperatures in the cool to cold range. Two groups identified it in 2002.[4][5] TRPM8 is an ion channel, a protein pore across the membrane of the nerve cell. When it opens, ions flow through it and the nerve fires.

The listing calls the result "delicious smelling". The same adjective appears in the instructions written for Keltar's software, in which data is "delicious".[1]

The company's other merchandise is mostly prospective. A quest worth 500 experience points, "Guerilla Marketing (IRL)", proposes "Everything from putting up Keltar stickers where nerds will see them to... oh, let's talk!"[1] Maxine, the company's other mascot, has said of herself: "I'm a plush doll, as well. Maybe they'll sell me as marketing schwag. We'll see."[6] A knowledge base written in Keltar's voice in 2025 promised buyers of the older MR1 Molecular Streaming Device a case in lapis lazuli colors: "Yes, we'll get the lapis lazuli filament and make you a lapis lazuli case. And several other colors."[1]
