EpicQuestBio is the YouTube channel of Molecular Reality Corporation, named after Epic Quest Bio, the role-playing game the company uses as its management system. In October 2026 it held 20 public videos. The oldest footage is a 19-minute recording of one of the company's first sliding occlusion experiments, made in 2015 or 2016; the newest is an invitation to the Church of Sequence Space, posted on December 7, 2025.[1][2] For the years before 2026 it is the main public record of the company's laboratory work, including the demonpore 64 console and a garage laboratory in El Dorado Hills, California.

The company keeps its own catalog of 17 of the videos, with one-line descriptions, sorted into three groups.[2] Several of its titles differ from the ones on YouTube. The early experiment that YouTube lists as "best pore data yet" is "Pre-Wright Brothers Flights" in the catalog, and the channel's longest video, "HourOfPoreBehavior", is catalogued as "60-minute juxtapore recording".[2]

Videos

Titles are given as they appear on YouTube, with the company's catalog title where it differs. Running times are from the catalog; the three videos outside it have no recorded length.

Hardware

Title Catalog title Length Description
MR1 preview video 5:24 A walkthrough of the CAD model and circuit board of the older handheld MR1 Molecular Streaming Device. The fluid cell is "the setting that holds the diamond nanopore"; the board has five zones.
Keltar explains MR1 3:47 The felt mascot Keltar narrates a tour of the same device and its "5-kingdom circuit board", and of how signals at the "scale of a gnat's whisper" are amplified and streamed.
molecular aquarium silicon 0:27 Chips for the Molecular Aquarium, lit from behind: windows of silicon nitride, each with several pores, under a sliding selector aperture.

Physics and wet laboratory

Title Catalog title Length Description
Cellular transit control 2:32 Split screen: a microscope view of a silicon nitride pore beside the live current trace, with the holding voltage, insertion pulses and the control of particles passing through.
best pore data yet Pre-Wright Brothers Flights 19:17 About 2015 to 2016. One of the earliest sliding-occlusion experiments, read out on a benchtop picoammeter. A green plush resembling Keltar sits behind the instrument in the thumbnail.[3]
HourOfPoreBehavior 60-minute juxtapore recording 1:00:01 An uninterrupted hour of current through a juxtapore, recorded to show its stability.
demonpore regeneration nanoparticle sample 0:46 A pore being cleared of a clog and reused while nanoparticles are sampled.
wet dpore EDH 1 100 mM KCl 6:53 A pore being wetted and its baseline conductance measured in 100 mM potassium chloride, at the company's garage laboratory in El Dorado Hills, California.
2019 02 19 17 20 38 fields of dna molecules at 100x Fields of DNA molecules at 100× 1:20 February 19, 2019. Single DNA molecules under fluorescence, moved by electric fields.
DNA Capillary Combing (not catalogued) DNA molecules stretched out in a capillary.

A rendered concept of the demonpore 64. The console itself appears in three of the channel's videos.

YouTube capitalizes "Demonpore" twice, while the company's catalog keeps the lowercase spelling that the company used for its first name, demonpore, inc.; the catalog notes that "The company name is styled lowercase".[2] YouTube keeps a timestamp in the title of the DNA video, which reads as 5:20:38 in the afternoon of February 19, 2019. The catalog's title for the 2015 experiment likens it to the attempts at powered flight that came before the Wright brothers' first success, in December 1903.

The 17 catalogued videos run to 1 hour, 57 minutes and 27 seconds in all. "HourOfPoreBehavior" accounts for 1 hour and 1 second of that, just over half; seven of the others are under two minutes, and the shortest, "molecular aquarium silicon", lasts 27 seconds.[2]
