Wikipedia requires its articles to represent "fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias, all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic". Molecupedia tries to meet the same standard under a handicap: almost everything in it about Molecular Reality Corporation was written by Molecular Reality Corporation. This policy explains how the encyclopedia tries to stay neutral about its own author, and where it does not succeed.

Explanation
Neutral does not mean flattering, and it does not mean harsh. A neutral article states what is known about its subject, gives each fact the weight that the evidence gives it, and leaves the judgment to the reader. For a company writing about itself, the hard part is the facts it would rather leave out. This policy therefore requires them to stay in. The company's conflict of interest is declared separately, at Molecupedia:Conflict of interest.

Unwelcome facts
An article about the company must report facts that do the company no credit when they are relevant and sourced. The company article reports, among other things:
* that the company's patent on sliding occlusion lapsed on February 2, 2025, when a maintenance fee went unpaid;
* that its open instrument design, the MR1 Nanopore Reader, carried the status line "Designed. Simulated. Built and measured: not yet." when it was released;
* that none of its sliding-occlusion work had appeared in a peer-reviewed journal by October 2026;
* that its guide described its equipment in August 2026 as "one instrument in one lab";
* that in May 2026 it stated "We are not ready to ship MR series Molecular Streaming Devices".
None of these may be removed to improve the company's image, and none may be softened into a phrase such as "in development" that hides the date.

Impartial tone
Molecupedia describes disputes and claims in a neutral voice. The company's own claims about itself are quoted and attributed, and the most promotional of them are tagged. The company's About page says that it "is building the world's first utility-scale molecular sensing infrastructure"; the company article quotes the sentence, names the page and follows it with Peacock inline. Its taglines appear in quotation marks, as things the company says. When company materials divide other firms into "the brain" and "the eye", articles report the division as the company's and describe the other firms by what they do.

Due weight
The company is small. Its guide speaks of "one instrument in one lab", and its staff in 2026 numbered two or three people. Giving such a company an encyclopedia of its own already gives it more weight than any outside source would, so individual articles should not add to the excess with adjectives. Articles about the field give the established companies the space their work has earned. The company's own quiz game describes Oxford Nanopore Technologies as "our kin-spirit in many ways", and its articles on its competitors should be accurate enough that the people who work there would recognize their company.

The company's fiction
Neutrality applies to the company's stories as well as its facts. Keltar's arrival from another dimension in 2012, the Church of Sequence Space and the plots of the company's games are reported as the company's fiction, with the date and source of each, the way an encyclopedia describes a novel. Where a careless sentence would state the story as fact, articles say "in the company's fiction" or "in the story". The company's guide draws the same line in its motto: "Real science today. Dreams flagged as dreams. Story flagged as story."

Where Molecupedia falls short
The encyclopedia does not entirely succeed, and it says so. The article on the company carries Conflict of interest and Peacock banners; the second can come off when the tagged phrases do, and the first is permanent. The company chose the subjects, and it wrote articles about its own games, characters, quests and slogans that no outside encyclopedia would cover at such length. It also chose which true facts to set side by side, and much of the encyclopedia's humor comes from that choice. Choosing is a point of view.

The editors who argue on the talk pages are invented, so no independent editor checks the company's work. Readers can, and are asked to report what they find through the addresses on Molecupedia:About.
